The walk
Blue-blazed loop through oak and pitch pine, kettle ponds, and the Serpent's Back ridge. Flip-flopped clockwise gets the climb out of the way early. Deer, box turtles, and more ticks than you want — full pants are the move.
Access & parking
NY-27 eastbound to Hither Hills West Overlook. Trailhead kiosk at the east end of the lot.
Parking: Hither Hills overlook lot, free, early-bird recommended on summer weekends.
